MAISON FERRAND
Founding and History
Maison Ferrand was founded in 1989 by Alexandre Gabriel, who set out to restore the historical craft of Cognac-making. Based in the Grande Champagne region, known as the premier cru of Cognac, Maison Ferrand's mission has always been to create high-quality, terroir-driven Cognacs using traditional techniques.
Gabriel forged relationships with winegrowers and distillers in the region to access the finest eaux-de-vie, combining age-old expertise with a spirit of innovation. Over the years, Maison Ferrand has grown to become one of the most respected producers of artisanal Cognac, renowned for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and preservation of craftsmanship. In addition to its Cognac, Maison Ferrand is also known for its line of premium spirits, including gin and rum, produced under the same ethos of excellence.
Style and Offerings
Maison Ferrand is celebrated for its elegant and complex Cognacs, which are crafted from eaux-de-vie primarily sourced from the Grande Champagne region. The house focuses on natural, unhurried aging in small French oak barrels, allowing the Cognacs to develop rich, nuanced flavors without the use of additives like caramel or sugar.
The Ferrand style emphasizes balance and finesse, with flavors ranging from vibrant fruit and floral notes to more mature tones of spice, oak, and rancio. The house is also known for its innovative approach to blending, combining eaux-de-vie of different ages and origins to create distinctive expressions that reflect both the history of Cognac and modern tastes.
